47:1___Joseph_went_and_told_Pharaoh，_“My_father_and_brothers，_with_their_flocks_and_herds_and_everything_they_own，_have_come_from_the_land_of_Canaan_and_are_now_in_Goshen。“
约瑟谒见法老，说：“我的父亲和我的兄弟，带着所有的货财和羊群、牛群，从迦南来到了埃及，他们如今停留在歌珊地区。”
47:2___He_chose_five_of_his_brothers_and_presented_them_before_Pharaoh。
约瑟选了五个兄弟，带他们谒见法老。
47:3___Pharaoh_asked_the_brothers，_“What_is_your_occupation?“_“Your_servants_are_shepherds，“_they_replied_to_Pharaoh，_“just_as_our_fathers_were。“
法老问他们：“你们从事何种工作？”
他们说：“你的仆人一向靠放牧为生，从祖辈开始就是如此。”
47:4___They_also_said_to_him，_“We_have_come_to_live_here_awhile，_because_the_famine_is_severe_in_Canaan_and_your_servants＇_flocks_have_no_pasture。_So_now，_please_let_your_servants_settle_in_Goshen。“
他们又说：“迦南的饥荒太严重了，仆人的羊群，找不到可吃的青草。”
“仆人只得举家搬迁到埃及，求法老允许仆人们在歌珊地区定居。”
47:5___Pharaoh_said_to_Joseph，_“Your_father_and_your_brothers_have_come_to_you，
法老对约瑟说：“你的父亲和你的兄弟们，前来投靠你，”
47:6___and_the_land_of_Egypt_is_before_you;_settle_your_father_and_your_brothers_in_the_best_part_of_the_land。_Let_them_live_in_Goshen。_And_if_you_know_of_any_among_them_with_special_ability，_put_them_in_charge_of_my_own_livestock。“
“你如今掌管全埃及的土地，此事就由你排吧。”
“你就让你的父亲和你的兄弟，居住在歌珊地区吧，任他们挑选水草最丰美的地方。”
“若你的兄弟当中，有擅长照料牲畜的，可以安排他为我管理牲畜。”
47:7___Then_Joseph_brought_his_father_Jacob_in_and_presented_him_before_Pharaoh。_After_Jacob_blessed_Pharaoh，
约瑟又带父亲以色列谒见法老。
以色列感谢了法老的安排。
47:8___Pharaoh_asked_him，_“How_old_are_you?“
法老问以色列：“老人家多少岁了？”
47:9___And_Jacob_said_to_Pharaoh，_“The_years_of_my_pilgrimage_are_a_hundred_and_thirty。_My_years_have_been_few_and_difficult，_and_they_do_not_equal_the_years_of_the_pilgrimage_of_my_fathers。“
以色列说：“我苟活了一百三十年，只是我的人生坎坷且苦短，远不能跟我的先祖相比。”
47:10__Then_Jacob_blessed_Pharaoh_and_went_out_from_his_presence。
以色列再次感谢法老后，离开了皇宫。
47:11__So_Joseph_settled_his_father_and_his_brothers_in_Egypt_and_gave_them_property_in_the_best_part_of_the_land，_the_district_of_Rameses，_as_Pharaoh_directed。
约瑟按照法老的吩咐，把埃及水草最丰美的地方，分配给了他的父亲和他的兄弟。
以色列一家，安居在歌珊地区一个叫兰塞的地方。
47:12__Joseph_also_provided_his_father_and_his_brothers_and_all_his_father＇s_household_with_food，_according_to_the_number_of_their_children。
此后，约瑟定期供给父亲、兄弟和所有的家人所需的粮食。
并按照他们的人口增长，不断增加供给的粮食。
47:13__There_was_no_food，_however，_in_the_whole_region_because_the_famine_was_severe;_both_Egypt_and_Canaan_wasted_away_because_of_the_famine。
饥荒一天比一天严重，所有地方的粮食都吃光了。
埃及和迦南地区，也因为连续的荒年，没有任何的粮食收成。
47:14__Joseph_collected_all_the_money_that_was_to_be_found_in_Egypt_and_Canaan_in_payment_for_the_grain_they_were_buying，_and_he_brought_it_to_Pharaoh＇s_palace。
约瑟通过贩卖粮食，几乎敛聚了埃及和迦南所有的钱银。
约瑟把这些钱银都交给了法老。
47:15__When_the_money_of_the_people_of_Egypt_and_Canaan_was_gone，_all_Egypt_came_to_Joseph_and_said，_“Give_us_food。_Why_should_we_die_before_your_eyes?_Our_money_is_used_up。“
埃及和迦南的钱银都用尽了，埃及的民众便去哀求约瑟：
“我们的钱银都用完了，求你分些粮食给我们，否则我们全都要饿死了。”
47:16__“Then_bring_your_livestock，“_said_Joseph。_“I_will_sell_you_food_in_exchange_for_your_livestock，_since_your_money_is_gone。“
约瑟说：“你们没有了钱银，可以带你们的牲畜来此，跟我交换粮食。”
47:17__So_they_brought_their_livestock_to_Joseph，_and_he_gave_them_food_in_exchange_for_their_horses，_their_sheep_and_goats，_their_cattle_and_donkeys。_And_he_brought_them_through_that_year_with_food_in_exchange_for_all_their_livestock。
埃及民众就用自己的牲畜换取粮食，约瑟因此得到无数的牛、羊、驴、马。
埃及民众靠着换来的粮食，又渡过了一年。
47:18__When_that_year_was_over，_they_came_to_him_the_following_year_and_said，_“We_cannot_hide_from_our_lord_the_fact_that_since_our_money_is_gone_and_our_livestock_belongs_to_you，_there_is_nothing_left_for_our_lord_except_our_bodies_and_our_land。
到了第二年，埃及民众又去哀求约瑟：
“我们不敢欺骗尊贵的大人，我们的钱银都用完了，牲畜也尽数归了大人，我们如今只剩下田地和自己的身体了。”
47:19__Why_should_we_perish_before_your_eyes--we_and_our_land_as_well?_Buy_us_and_our_land_in_exchange_for_food，_and_we_with_our_land_will_be_in_bondage_to_Pharaoh。_Give_us_seed_so_that_we_may_live_and_not_die，_and_that_the_land_may_not_become_desolate。“
“求你不要眼睁睁的看着我们饿死，求你允许我们用身体和田地换取粮食。”
“我们愿意成为法老的农奴，只要你赐给我们种子，我们就能生存下去，我们就能为法老耕种田地。”
47:20__So_Joseph_bought_all_the_land_in_Egypt_for_Pharaoh。_The_Egyptians，_one_and_all，_sold_their_fields，_because_the_famine_was_too_severe_for_them。_The_land_became_Pharaoh＇s，
就这样，约瑟为法老买下了埃及所有的田地。
埃及民众为了能在饥荒中活下去，都将田地换取了粮食。
47:21__and_Joseph_reduced_the_people_to_servitude，_from_one_end_of_Egypt_to_the_other。
约瑟把成为农奴的民众，安置到埃及的各个城镇里。
47:22__However，_he_did_not_buy_the_land_of_the_priests，_because_they_received_a_regular_allotment_from_Pharaoh_and_had_food_enough_from_the_allotment_Pharaoh_gave_them。_That_is_why_they_did_not_sell_their_land。
整个埃及，只有祭司的田地，约瑟没能买下来。
因为祭司是由法老定期颁发粮饷的，即使是在饥荒期间，他们也不缺乏粮食，所以他们不用卖自己的田地。
47:23__Joseph_said_to_the_people，_“Now_that_I_have_bought_you_and_your_land_today_for_Pharaoh，_here_is_seed_for_you_so_you_can_plant_the_ground。
约瑟对民众说：“你们如今是法老的农奴，我会把种子分发给你们，让你们可以耕作田地。”
47:24__But_when_the_crop_comes_in，_give_a_fifth_of_it_to_Pharaoh。_The_other_four-fifths_you_may_keep_as_seed_for_the_fields_and_as_food_for_yourselves_and_your_households_and_your_children。“
“田地里的收成，你们要上交五分之一给法老。”
“其余五分之四，你们就留下，作为以后的种子，也作为你们家人和孩子的粮食。”
47:25__“You_have_saved_our_lives，“_they_said。_“May_we_find_favor_in_the_eyes_of_our_lord;_we_will_be_in_bondage_to_Pharaoh。“
埃及的民众说：“大人拯救了我们的生命。你是如此仁厚的对待我们，我们愿意终生为法老的农奴。”
47:26__So_Joseph_established_it_as_a_law_concerning_land_in_Egypt--still_in_force_today--that_a_fifth_of_the_produce_belongs_to_Pharaoh。_It_was_only_the_land_of_the_priests_that_did_not_become_Pharaoh＇s。
此后，埃及所有田地的五分之一收成，要上交给法老。——约瑟所立下的这条律例，直到今天还在沿用。
唯一例外的，是祭司的田地，因为祭司的田地不属于法老。
47:27__Now_the_Israelites_settled_in_Egypt_in_the_region_of_Goshen。_They_acquired_property_there_and_were_fruitful_and_increased_greatly_in_number。
以色列人定居在埃及的歌珊地区，得到了当地的产业，人口渐渐繁盛起来。
47:28__Jacob_lived_in_Egypt_seventeen_years，_and_the_years_of_his_life_were_a_hundred_and_forty-seven。
以色列在埃及生活了十七年。
以色列一共活了一百四十七年。
47:29__When_the_time_drew_near_for_Israel_to_die，_he_called_for_his_son_Joseph_and_said_to_him，_“If_I_have_found_favor_in_your_eyes，_put_your_hand_under_my_thigh_and_promise_that_you_will_show_me_kindness_and_faithfulness。_Do_not_bury_me_in_Egypt，
以色列知道自己死期将近，就把儿子约瑟叫来，说：
“如果你是孝顺的，就把手放在我的大腿底下发誓，你会以仁孝待我，绝对不会把我埋葬在埃及。”
47:30__but_when_I_rest_with_my_fathers，_carry_me_out_of_Egypt_and_bury_me_where_they_are_buried。“_“I_will_do_as_you_say，“_he_said。
“我死后，你要把我的遗体送出埃及，去跟我的祖先埋葬在一起。”
约瑟说：“我会依照你的吩咐去做。”
47:31__“Swear_to_me，“_he_said。_Then_Joseph_swore_to_him，_and_Israel_worshiped_as_he_leaned_on_the_top_of_his_staff。
以色列说：“那你发誓吧。”
约瑟发下誓言，以色列也靠在床头上，敬拜了上帝。
