18:1___The_LORD_appeared_to_Abraham_near_the_great_trees_of_Mamre_while_he_was_sitting_at_the_entrance_to_his_tent_in_the_heat_of_the_day。
一个炎热的中午，耶和华在幔利管治的橡树地区对亚伯拉罕显现。
当时，亚伯拉罕正坐在家门前乘凉。
18:2___Abraham_looked_up_and_saw_three_men_standing_nearby。_When_he_saw_them，_he_hurried_from_the_entrance_of_his_tent_to_meet_them_and_bowed_low_to_the_ground。
亚伯拉罕抬起头，就见到有三人站在对面。
他慌忙迎了过去，跪伏在三人身前。
18:3___He_said，_“If_I_have_found_favor_in_your_eyes，_my_lord，_do_not_pass_your_servant_by。
他说：“我主耶和华，我有幸蒙恩于你眼前，请不要就此离开你的仆人。”
18:4___Let_a_little_water_be_brought，_and_then_you_may_all_wash_your_feet_and_rest_under_this_tree。
“请在这树荫下休憩片刻，容我取来清水，沐去你足上的尘土。”
（注：希伯来人所穿的鞋子，是用革带编织而成，脚掌经常会被尘土弄脏。而希伯来人进餐或聚会时，是赤脚坐于席上，为显示尊重和雅观，通常要先行洗脚。）
18:5__Let_me_get_you_something_to_eat，_so_you_can_be_refreshed_and_then_go_on_your_way--now_that_you_have_come_to_your_servant。“_“Very_well，“_they_answered，_“do_as_you_say。“
“我主驾临仆人的住处，请容许仆人奉上一些吃食，为你往后的旅途增添些许精力。”
那三人说：“如此甚好。”
18:6___So_Abraham_hurried_into_the_tent_to_Sarah。_“Quick，“_he_said，_“get_three_seahs_of_fine_flour_and_knead_it_and_bake_some_bread。“
亚伯拉罕就连忙跑进帐棚里，对撒拉说：“你快些取三细亚的精面烙成饼。”
（注：细亚是当时的计量单位，约为现今的7。3公升。）
18:7___Then_he_ran_to_the_herd_and_selected_a_choice，_tender_calf_and_gave_it_to_a_servant，_who_hurried_to_prepare_it。
然后他又跑到牛群中，选了一只肥嫩的小牛，让仆人速速宰杀烹煮好。
18:8___He_then_brought_some_curds_and_milk_and_the_calf_that_had_been_prepared，_and_set_these_before_them。_While_they_ate，_he_stood_near_them_under_a_tree。
安排好一切，亚伯拉罕又精选了一些奶酪和牛奶，连同刚烹煮好的小牛肉和饼，摆放在树荫下。
三人进食时，他恭恭敬敬的侍立在一旁。
18:9___“Where_is_your_wife_Sarah?“_they_asked_him。_“There，_in_the_tent，“_he_said。
“你的妻子撒拉在哪里？”进食过后，其中一人问。
“她在帐棚里。”亚伯拉罕回答。
18:10__Then_the_LORD_said，_“I_will_surely_return_to_you_about_this_time_next_year，_and_Sarah_your_wife_will_have_a_son。“_Now_Sarah_was_listening_at_the_entrance_to_the_tent，_which_was_behind_him。
耶和华说：“明年的这个时候，我会再来此地。到时，你的妻子撒拉会为你生下一个儿子。”
躲在门后的撒拉也听到了这话。
18:11__Abraham_and_Sarah_were_already_old_and_well_advanced_in_years，_and_Sarah_was_past_the_age_of_childbearing。
当时，亚伯拉罕和撒拉已衰老，撒拉的月经也早已断绝了。
18:12__So_Sarah_laughed_to_herself_as_she_thought，_“After_I_am_worn_out_and_my_master_is_old，_will_I_now_have_this_pleasure?“
撒拉就偷偷的笑了，心里想：“我都老成这模样了，我的丈夫也已老迈不堪，怎么可能会有这种喜事！”
18:13__Then_the_LORD_said_to_Abraham，_“Why_did_Sarah_laugh_and_say，_＇Will_I_really_have_a_child，_now_that_I_am_old?＇
耶和华对亚伯拉罕说：“撒拉为何发笑？她是不是说，‘我都老成这个样子了，怎么可能生孩子？’”
18:14__Is_anything_too_hard_for_the_LORD?_I_will_return_to_you_at_the_appointed_time_next_year_and_Sarah_will_have_a_son。“
“她不知道在耶和华面前是没有不可能的事吗？明年的这个时候，我会返回此地，那时，撒拉必定会生下一个儿子。”
18:15__Sarah_was_afraid，_so_she_lied_and_said，_“I_did_not_laugh。“_But_he_said，_“Yes，_you_did_laugh。“
撒拉吓了一跳，隔着门说：“我没有笑。”
耶和华说：“你有，我都听到了。”
18:16__When_the_men_got_up_to_leave，_they_looked_down_toward_Sodom，_and_Abraham_walked_along_with_them_to_see_them_on_their_way。
休憩过后，三人便起行，来到一处可以俯视所多玛城的地方。
亚伯拉罕于一旁随行相送。
18:17__Then_the_LORD_said，_“Shall_I_hide_from_Abraham_what_I_am_about_to_do?
耶和华说：“我即将要做的事，无需要瞒着亚伯拉罕。”
18:18__Abraham_will_surely_become_a_great_and_powerful_nation，_and_all_nations_on_earth_will_be_blessed_through_him。
“亚伯拉罕的血脉，将来会成为一个强盛无比的民族，大地上的人类，都将因他而得幸福。”
18:19__For_I_have_chosen_him，_so_that_he_will_direct_his_children_and_his_household_after_him_to_keep_the_way_of_the_LORD_by_doing_what_is_right_and_just，_so_that_the_LORD_will_bring_about_for_Abraham_what_he_has_promised_him。“
“我眷顾亚伯拉罕，是因为他能带领着他的子孙后裔，一直坚定的信奉于我，事事遵照我的教导，秉公行义，以此来换取我曾对他许下的承诺。”
18:20__Then_the_LORD_said，_“The_outcry_against_Sodom_and_Gomorrah_is_so_great_and_their_sin_so_grievous
耶和华又说：“我在天上，听闻那所多玛城和蛾摩拉城，罪孽甚是深重，”
18:21__that_I_will_go_down_and_see_if_what_they_have_done_is_as_bad_as_the_outcry_that_has_reached_me。_If_not，_I_will_know。“
“我此行，便是去查看这两个地方，是否真如传闻那般的不堪。”
18:22__The_men_turned_away_and_went_toward_Sodom，_but_Abraham_remained_standing_before_the_LORD。
说完这话，另外两人就起程往所多玛城而去。
亚伯拉罕仍侍立于耶和华身前。
18:23__Then_Abraham_approached_him_and_said:_“Will_you_sweep_away_the_righteous_with_the_wicked?
亚伯拉罕稍稍挨近耶和华，说：“任何一个地方，总会有正直之人和邪恶之人并存，您会否因那些罪孽，而将这两种人一同毁灭？”
18:24__What_if_there_are_fifty_righteous_people_in_the_city?_Will_you_really_sweep_it_away_and_not_spare_the_place_for_the_sake_of_the_fifty_righteous_people_in_it?
“假若那城里头，住了五十个正直之人，您还会毁灭这城吗？”
“你会否因为那五十个正直之人，而赦免那个地方？”
18:25__Far_be_it_from_you_to_do_such_a_thing--to_kill_the_righteous_with_the_wicked，_treating_the_righteous_and_the_wicked_alike。_Far_be_it_from_you!_Will_not_the_Judge_of_all_the_earth_do_right?“
“将那正直之人和邪恶之人一起毁灭，将那正直之人和邪恶之人一视同仁。您是审判地上万物的我主耶和华，您是绝不会如此不分对错的，对吗？”
18:26__The_LORD_said，_“If_I_find_fifty_righteous_people_in_the_city_of_Sodom，_I_will_spare_the_whole_place_for_their_sake。“
耶和华说：“若是所多玛城里，能找到五十个正直之人，我便赦免此地。”
18:27__Then_Abraham_spoke_up_again:_“Now_that_I_have_been_so_bold_as_to_speak_to_the_Lord，_though_I_am_nothing_but_dust_and_ashes，
亚伯拉罕又说：“在我主耶和华面前，我是如微尘一般卑微渺小的凡人，请原谅我的无礼。”
18:28__what_if_the_number_of_the_righteous_is_five_less_than_fifty?_Will_you_destroy_the_whole_city_because_of_five_people?“_“If_I_find_forty-five_there，“_he_said，_“I_will_not_destroy_it。“
“假若那城里只有四十五个正直之人，您会否因为少了五个，而毁灭这城？”
耶和华说：“假若能找到四十五个正直之人，我也会赦免此地。”
18:29__Once_again_he_spoke_to_him，_“What_if_only_forty_are_found_there?“_He_said，_“For_the_sake_of_forty，_I_will_not_do_it。“
亚伯拉罕再次说：“假若那城里只有四十个正直之人，那又该如何？”
耶和华说：“为了那四十个正直之人，我也会赦免此地。”
18:30__Then_he_said，_“May_the_Lord_not_be_angry，_but_let_me_speak。_What_if_only_thirty_can_be_found_there?“_He_answered，_“I_will_not_do_it_if_I_find_thirty_there。“
然后，亚伯拉罕说：“求我主耶和华宽恕我的冒犯，但我还是要说，假若那城里头只有三十个正直之人，那又该如何？”
耶和华说：“假若有三十个正直之人，我也会赦免此地。”
18:31__Abraham_said，_“Now_that_I_have_been_so_bold_as_to_speak_to_the_Lord，_what_if_only_twenty_can_be_found_there?“_He_said，_“For_the_sake_of_twenty，_I_will_not_destroy_it。“
亚伯拉罕又说：“求我主耶和华宽恕我的放肆，假若那城里头只有二十个正直之人，那又该如何？”
耶和华说：“为了那二十个正直之人，我也会赦免此地。”
18:32__Then_he_said，_“May_the_Lord_not_be_angry，_but_let_me_speak_just_once_more。_What_if_only_ten_can_be_found_there?“_He_answered，_“For_the_sake_of_ten，_I_will_not_destroy_it。“
亚伯拉罕再次说：“求我主耶和华不要动怒，这是最后一次了。假若那城里头只有十个正直之人，那又该如何？”
耶和华说：“为了那十个正直之人，我也会赦免此地。”
18:33__When_the_LORD_had_finished_speaking_with_Abraham，_he_left，_and_Abraham_returned_home。
对话结束后，耶和华上帝离去，亚伯拉罕也返回了自己家中。
