33:1___Jacob_looked_up_and_there_was_Esau，_coming_with_his_four_hundred_men;_so_he_divided_the_children_among_Leah，_Rachel_and_the_two_maidservants。
雅各远远看到，以扫带着四百人迎面而来。
雅各就把孩子们交给利亚、拉结和两个伺妾分别看顾。
33:2___He_put_the_maidservants_and_their_children_in_front，_Leah_and_her_children_next，_and_Rachel_and_Joseph_in_the_rear。
他让两个伺妾带着她们所生的孩子，站在队伍的最前面。
利亚和她所生的孩子，站在队伍的中间。
拉结和约瑟，站在队伍的最后面。
33:3___He_himself_went_on_ahead_and_bowed_down_to_the_ground_seven_times_as_he_approached_his_brother。
雅各自己则是迎着以扫的队伍，走了过去。
他一路不断的跪地叩拜，经过七次的跪拜，他来到哥哥身前。
33:4___But_Esau_ran_to_meet_Jacob_and_embraced_him;_he_threw_his_arms_around_his_neck_and_kissed_him。_And_they_wept。
以扫奔跑过来迎接雅各，拥抱他，又搂着雅各的脖子亲吻他。
一时间，两个人都泣不成声。
33:5___Then_Esau_looked_up_and_saw_the_women_and_children。_“Who_are_these_with_you?“_he_asked。_Jacob_answered，_“They_are_the_children_God_has_graciously_given_your_servant。“
以扫举目四顾，看到那些女子和孩子，就问：“这些是你的什么人？”
雅各说：“这些孩子，是上帝恩赐给你仆人的儿女。”
33:6___Then_the_maidservants_and_their_children_approached_and_bowed_down。
那两个伺妾和她们所生的孩子，过来跪拜以扫。
33:7___Next，_Leah_and_her_children_came_and_bowed_down。_Last_of_all_came_Joseph_and_Rachel，_and_they_too_bowed_down。
接着，利亚和她所生的孩子也过来跪拜以扫。
最后，拉结也带着约瑟过来跪拜以扫。
33:8___Esau_asked，_“What_do_you_mean_by_all_these_droves_I_met?“_“To_find_favor_in_your_eyes，_my_lord，“_he_said。
以扫又问：“我过来时，一路上看到的畜群是怎么回事？”
雅各说：“那是送给主人您的礼物，你的仆人希望能藉此得到您的恩宠。”
33:9___But_Esau_said，_“I_already_have_plenty，_my_brother。_Keep_what_you_have_for_yourself。“
以扫说：“我的弟弟，我现在已经很富有了，你的东西就自己留着吧。”
33:10__“No，_please!“_said_Jacob。_“If_I_have_found_favor_in_your_eyes，_accept_this_gift_from_me。_For_to_see_your_face_is_like_seeing_the_face_of_God，_now_that_you_have_received_me_favorably。
雅各说：“不，我的主人，我敬畏您，就如同敬畏上帝一般，如今您又以慈爱对待仆人。”
33:11__Please_accept_the_present_that_was_brought_to_you，_for_God_has_been_gracious_to_me_and_I_have_all_I_need。“_And_because_Jacob_insisted，_Esau_accepted_it。
“求您收下这些礼物，您的仆人蒙受上帝的看顾，生活甚是富足。”
雅各一再恳求，以扫就收下了礼物。
33:12__Then_Esau_said，_“Let_us_be_on_our_way;_I＇ll_accompany_you。“
以扫说：“我们一同回去吧，我为你引路。”
33:13__But_Jacob_said_to_him，_“My_lord_knows_that_the_children_are_tender_and_that_I_must_care_for_the_ewes_and_cows_that_are_nursing_their_young。_If_they_are_driven_hard_just_one_day，_all_the_animals_will_die。
雅各说：“我的主人，您都看到了，我的孩子都还很幼小，而我的牲畜群中，也有很多正在哺乳的羔羊和小牛，这些都需要小心照料。”
“若是催赶它们赶路，我怕一天下来，它们就全部死光了。”
33:14__So_let_my_lord_go_on_ahead_of_his_servant，_while_I_move_along_slowly_at_the_pace_of_the_droves_before_me_and_that_of_the_children，_until_I_come_to_my_lord_in_Seir。“
“我的主人不如先行返回，仆人照料着孩子和牲畜群，在后面慢慢跟进，仆人会在西珥会合主人的。”
33:15__Esau_said，_“Then_let_me_leave_some_of_my_men_with_you。“_“But_why_do_that?“_Jacob_asked。_“Just_let_me_find_favor_in_the_eyes_of_my_lord。“
以扫说：“若是这样，我留下一些人护送你们吧。”
雅各说：“实在不敢劳烦主人，仆人能感受到主人的慈爱之心就已经足够了。”
33:16__So_that_day_Esau_started_on_his_way_back_to_Seir。
就这样，以扫在当天掉头返回西珥。
33:17__Jacob，_however，_went_to_Succoth，_where_he_built_a_place_for_himself_and_made_shelters_for_his_livestock。_That_is_why_the_place_is_called_Succoth。
雅各却是在半途转道，去了疏割。
雅各在疏割建造房屋，搭起了牲畜棚，这个地方后来就被称为疏割（希伯来语：棚子）。
33:18__After_Jacob_came_from_Paddan_Aram，_he_arrived_safely_at_the_city_of_Shechem_in_Canaan_and_camped_within_sight_of_the_city。
雅各从巴旦亚兰平安返回迦南后，居住在示剑城外。
33:19__For_a_hundred_pieces_of_silver，_he_bought_from_the_sons_of_Hamor，_the_father_of_Shechem，_the_plot_of_ground_where_he_pitched_his_tent。
雅各用了一百块银子，从示剑城之主哈抹的儿子的手上，买下了他建造房屋的那片土地。
33:20__There_he_set_up_an_altar_and_called_it_El_Elohe_Israel。
雅各在疏割修筑了一个祭坛，取名为伊利伊罗伊以色列。
（注：“伊利”是上帝，“伊罗伊”也是上帝。“伊利伊罗伊以色列”就是：上帝，以色列的上帝）。
