50:1___Joseph_threw_himself_upon_his_father_and_wept_over_him_and_kissed_him。
约瑟扑在父亲身上，痛哭和亲吻了他的面颊。
50:2___Then_Joseph_directed_the_physicians_in_his_service_to_embalm_his_father_Israel。_So_the_physicians_embalmed_him，
哀痛过后，约瑟吩咐他的医师，用香料收殓父亲的遗体。
医师就用香料收殓了以色列，
50:3___taking_a_full_forty_days，_for_that_was_the_time_required_for_embalming。_And_the_Egyptians_mourned_for_him_seventy_days。
医师按照标准的流程，用四十天的时间完成收殓遗体的工作。
埃及的民众为以色列哀悼了七十天。
（注：希伯来人或是以色列人，是没有用香料收殓遗体的习俗，这里是特例。约瑟为保存父亲的遗体不腐烂，也为表示对埃及人的尊重，因此用香料收殓父亲的遗体。）
50:4___When_the_days_of_mourning_had_passed，_Joseph_said_to_Pharaoh＇s_court，_“If_I_have_found_favor_in_your_eyes，_speak_to_Pharaoh_for_me。_Tell_him，
丧期过后，约瑟对法老的内伺说：“你若是对我亲善，就去谒见法老，替我禀报，”
50:5___＇My_father_made_me_swear_an_oath_and_said，_“I_am_about_to_die;_bury_me_in_the_tomb_I_dug_for_myself_in_the_land_of_Canaan。“_Now_let_me_go_up_and_bury_my_father;_then_I_will_return。＇“
“我父亲曾让我发下誓言，他说，‘我快要死了，我在迦南为自己准备了一个坟墓，你要把我埋葬在那里。’”
“求法老容许我北上安葬父亲，丧事办完，我就马上返回。”
50:6___Pharaoh_said，_“Go_up_and_bury_your_father，_as_he_made_you_swear_to_do。“
法老说：“既然如此，你就履行你的誓言，北上安葬父亲吧！”
50:7___So_Joseph_went_up_to_bury_his_father。_All_Pharaoh＇s_officials_accompanied_him--the_dignitaries_of_his_court_and_all_the_dignitaries_of_Egypt--
于是，约瑟就北上安葬父亲。
随行送葬的人员有：法老的所有官员、皇宫里的贵人、埃及所有有名望的长者，
50:8___besides_all_the_members_of_Joseph＇s_household_and_his_brothers_and_those_belonging_to_his_father＇s_household。_Only_their_children_and_their_flocks_and_herds_were_left_in_Goshen。
约瑟的全家、约瑟的一众兄弟、以及父亲遗下的家眷。
只剩下一些幼小的孩子和那些羊群、牛群，留在了歌珊地区。
50:9___Chariots_and_horsemen_also_went_up_with_him。_It_was_a_very_large_company。
此外，还有战车和骑兵随行护送。
送葬的队伍非常庞大。
50:10__When_they_reached_the_threshing_floor_of_Atad，_near_the_Jordan，_they_lamented_loudly_and_bitterly;_and_there_Joseph_observed_a_seven-day_period_of_mourning_for_his_father。
送葬队伍来到了约但河东岸的亚达打谷场，停下举办丧礼。
在那里，约瑟为父亲守丧了七天。
50:11__When_the_Canaanites_who_lived_there_saw_the_mourning_at_the_threshing_floor_of_Atad，_they_said，_“The_Egyptians_are_holding_a_solemn_ceremony_of_mourning。“_That_is_why_that_place_near_the_Jordan_is_called_Abel_Mizraim。
当地的迦南人观看了亚达打谷场的丧礼，纷纷说：“埃及人举办的这个丧礼，真是太庄严肃穆了！”
此后，那个地方就被称为亚伯麦西（与希伯来语“语埃及人的哀悼”的发音相近）。
50:12__So_Jacob＇s_sons_did_as_he_had_commanded_them:
以色列的儿子们遵照父亲的吩咐，
50:13__They_carried_him_to_the_land_of_Canaan_and_buried_him_in_the_cave_in_the_field_of_Machpelah，_near_Mamre，_which_Abraham_had_bought_as_a_burial_place_from_Ephron_the_Hittite，_along_with_the_field。
他们把父亲的遗体带到了迦南，安葬在靠近幔利地区的麦比拉洞穴中。
麦比拉洞穴及周围的田地，亚伯拉罕已从赫人以弗仑手上买了下来，作为家族专用的丧葬场所。
50:14__After_burying_his_father，_Joseph_returned_to_Egypt，_together_with_his_brothers_and_all_the_others_who_had_gone_with_him_to_bury_his_father。
安葬完父亲后，约瑟返回了埃及。
他的一众兄弟和送葬的队伍，也一同返回埃及。
50:15__When_Joseph＇s_brothers_saw_that_their_father_was_dead，_they_said，_“What_if_Joseph_holds_a_grudge_against_us_and_pays_us_back_for_all_the_wrongs_we_did_to_him?“
父亲死后，约瑟的哥哥们商议：“我们从前对约瑟做下那样的恶事，约瑟若是记恨，要报复我们，我们该怎么办？”
50:16__So_they_sent_word_to_Joseph，_saying，_“Your_father_left_these_instructions_before_he_died:
他们派人去见约瑟，说：“你父亲在生前，曾留下这样的嘱咐，”
50:17__＇This_is_what_you_are_to_say_to_Joseph:_I_ask_you_to_forgive_your_brothers_the_sins_and_the_wrongs_they_committed_in_treating_you_so_badly。＇_Now_please_forgive_the_sins_of_the_servants_of_the_God_of_your_father。“_When_their_message_came_to_him，_Joseph_wept。
“‘你要转告约瑟：你的哥哥们虽然对你做下了恶事，然而，我希望你能宽恕他们。’”
“如今，看在你父亲事奉的上帝的份面上，请你宽恕你的仆人吧！”
约瑟听到这些话，就哭了起来。
50:18__His_brothers_then_came_and_threw_themselves_down_before_him。_“We_are_your_slaves，“_they_said。
约瑟的哥哥们来到他身前，跪伏在地上，说：“我们都是你的仆人。”
50:19__But_Joseph_said_to_them，_“Don＇t_be_afraid。_Am_I_in_the_place_of_God?
约瑟对他们说：“你们不要害怕，一切都是上帝的安排。”
50:20__You_intended_to_harm_me，_but_God_intended_it_for_good_to_accomplish_what_is_now_being_done，_the_saving_of_many_lives。
“虽然你们从前是想要加害我，然而，上帝却将它变成了好事。”
“我因此来到埃及，我因此挽救了许多人的生命。”
50:21__So_then，_don＇t_be_afraid。_I_will_provide_for_you_and_your_children。“_And_he_reassured_them_and_spoke_kindly_to_them。
“所以，你们不必害怕，我会一如既往的供养你们，以及你们的子女。”
约瑟细心的安慰一众哥哥，使他们都放下心来。
50:22__Joseph_stayed_in_Egypt，_along_with_all_his_father＇s_family。_He_lived_a_hundred_and_ten_years
此后，约瑟和父亲遗下的家眷继续生活在埃及。
约瑟一共活了一百一十岁。
50:23__and_saw_the_third_generation_of_Ephraim＇s_children。_Also_the_children_of_Makir_son_of_Manasseh_were_placed_at_birth_on_Joseph＇s_knees。
约瑟的长寿，使他得以亲眼看到以法莲第三代子孙的诞生。
玛拿西的儿子玛吉，生下第三代的子孙时，也是抱放在约瑟的膝上。
50:24__Then_Joseph_said_to_his_brothers，_“I_am_about_to_die。_But_God_will_surely_come_to_your_aid_and_take_you_up_out_of_this_land_to_the_land_he_promised_on_oath_to_Abraham，_Isaac_and_Jacob。“
后来，约瑟对一众兄弟说：“我快要死了，不过，上帝会继续看顾你们。”
“必有一天，上帝会指引你们重返故土，返回到上帝起誓赐给亚伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的土地上。”
50:25__And_Joseph_made_the_sons_of_Israel_swear_an_oath_and_said，_“God_will_surely_come_to_your_aid，_and_then_you_must_carry_my_bones_up_from_this_place。“
约瑟让以色列的子孙发下誓言，说：“上帝指引你们返回故土时，你们要将我的骸骨带回去。”
50:26__So_Joseph_died_at_the_age_of_a_hundred_and_ten。_And_after_they_embalmed_him，_he_was_placed_in_a_coffin_in_Egypt。
约瑟在一百一十岁时死了。
以色列的子孙用香料收殓他的遗体，安置在棺木中，停放在埃及。
