21:1__Now_the_LORD_was_gracious_to_Sarah_as_he_had_said，_and_the_LORD_did_for_Sarah_what_he_had_promised。
耶和华看顾撒拉，应许了他的诺言。
21:2__Sarah_became_pregnant_and_bore_a_son_to_Abraham_in_his_old_age，_at_the_very_time_God_had_promised_him。
在上帝所说的日子，撒拉果然受孕，为年迈的亚伯拉罕生下一个儿子。
21:3__Abraham_gave_the_name_Isaac_to_the_son_Sarah_bore_him。
亚伯拉罕遵照耶和华的吩咐，将撒拉所生的儿子取名为以撒。
21:4__When_his_son_Isaac_was_eight_days_old，_Abraham_circumcised_him，_as_God_commanded_him。
以撒出生的第八天，亚伯拉罕就按照与上帝的约定，为他行了割礼。
21:5__Abraham_was_a_hundred_years_old_when_his_son_Isaac_was_born_to_him。
以撒出生时，亚伯拉罕已经一百岁了。
21:6__Sarah_said，_“God_has_brought_me_laughter，_and_everyone_who_hears_about_this_will_laugh_with_me。“
撒拉说：“上帝为我带来欢笑，愿听到我欢笑的人，一同欢笑。”
21:7__And_she_added，_“Who_would_have_said_to_Abraham_that_Sarah_would_nurse_children?_Yet_I_have_borne_him_a_son_in_his_old_age。“
她又说：“若非是上帝的恩典，谁又能想得到，那个不育的撒拉，竟然可以哺养自己的孩子。如今我丈夫虽已老迈，我却终于为他生下一个儿子。”
21:8__The_child_grew_and_was_weaned，_and_on_the_day_Isaac_was_weaned_Abraham_held_a_great_feast。
以撒断奶的那天，亚伯拉罕举办了一个盛大的宴会。
21:9__But_Sarah_saw_that_the_son_whom_Hagar_the_Egyptian_had_borne_to_Abraham_was_mocking，
宴会时，撒拉看到埃及女仆夏甲所生的儿子，嬉笑嘲弄以撒。
21:10__and_she_said_to_Abraham，_“Get_rid_of_that_slave_woman_and_her_son，_for_that_slave_woman＇s_son_will_never_share_in_the_inheritance_with_my_son_Isaac。“
撒拉就对亚伯拉罕说：“你要将那女仆和她的儿子赶走，我的儿子以撒，是不会跟一个女仆的儿子分享你的继承权。”
21:11__The_matter_distressed_Abraham_greatly_because_it_concerned_his_son。
亚伯拉罕非常苦恼，毕竟两个都是他的儿子。
21:12__But_God_said_to_him，_“Do_not_be_so_distressed_about_the_boy_and_your_maidservant。_Listen_to_whatever_Sarah_tells_you，_because_it_is_through_Isaac_that_your_offspring_will_be_reckoned。
上帝对亚伯拉罕说：“你不要为女仆和她所生的儿子烦恼，你要听从撒拉的话，因为只有以撒生下的后裔，才算是你正统的血脉。”
21:13__I_will_make_the_son_of_the_maidservant_into_a_nation_also，_because_he_is_your_offspring。“
“女仆所生之子，我会使他开枝散叶，成为一个强盛的民族。毕竟，他也算是你的子裔。”
21:14__Early_the_next_morning_Abraham_took_some_food_and_a_skin_of_water_and_gave_them_to_Hagar。_He_set_them_on_her_shoulders_and_then_sent_her_off_with_the_boy。_She_went_on_her_way_and_wandered_in_the_desert_of_Beersheba。
第二天清早，亚伯拉罕准备了食物，又把一皮袋清水搭在夏甲肩上，就打发她带着儿子离开。
夏甲带着儿子一路走到别是巴的旷野，迷了路。
21:15__When_the_water_in_the_skin_was_gone，_she_put_the_boy_under_one_of_the_bushes。
皮袋里的清水喝光了，夏甲把儿子放置在一棵小树下，就转身离开。
21:16__Then_she_went_off_and_sat_down_nearby，_about_a_bowshot_away，_for_she_thought，_“I_cannot_watch_the_boy_die。“_And_as_she_sat_there_nearby，_she_began_to_sob。
她走出了一箭之遥，却又回头坐在地上，说：“我不忍见儿子就这样死去。”
她和儿子相对而望，都放声大哭。
21:17__God_heard_the_boy_crying，_and_the_angel_of_God_called_to_Hagar_from_heaven_and_said_to_her，_“What_is_the_matter，_Hagar?_Do_not_be_afraid;_God_has_heard_the_boy_crying_as_he_lies_there。
上帝听到那孩子的哭声，就差遣一名天使在天上对夏甲说：
“夏甲，发生了什么事？你不必害怕，上帝已经聆听到这孩子的苦难了。”
21:18__Lift_the_boy_up_and_take_him_by_the_hand，_for_I_will_make_him_into_a_great_nation。“
“你快去抱起那孩子，我会赐福他，他将来会开创出一个强盛的民族。”
21:19__Then_God_opened_her_eyes_and_she_saw_a_well_of_water。_So_she_went_and_filled_the_skin_with_water_and_gave_the_boy_a_drink。
然后，上帝使夏甲的眼睛变得明亮，她马上看到一口水井。
夏甲赶紧用皮袋盛了清水，喂给儿子喝。
21:20__God_was_with_the_boy_as_he_grew_up。_He_lived_in_the_desert_and_became_an_archer。
在上帝的看顾下，那孩子健康成长，成为一名善射的猎手。
21:21__While_he_was_living_in_the_Desert_of_Paran，_his_mother_got_a_wife_for_him_from_Egypt。
那孩子一直居住于巴兰的旷野，后来，他母亲给他娶了一个埃及妻子。
21:22__At_that_time_Abimelech_and_Phicol_the_commander_of_his_forces_said_to_Abraham，_“God_is_with_you_in_everything_you_do。
这个时候，亚伯拉罕和亚比米勒及其军事长官非各，在别是巴举行会盟。
亚比米勒说：“愿上帝与你同在。”
21:23__Now_swear_to_me_here_before_God_that_you_will_not_deal_falsely_with_me_or_my_children_or_my_descendants。_Show_to_me_and_the_country_where_you_are_living_as_an_alien_the_same_kindness_I_have_shown_to_you。“
“我如今在这里、在上帝面前要你起誓，你可以在我所管辖的土地上生活和居住，但是你不能对我、对我的子孙以及我的后裔，起坏心眼。”
“我是如何善待于你，你也要同样的善待我，善待你寄居的国家。”
21:24__Abraham_said，_“I_swear_it。“
亚伯拉罕说：“我谨此立誓。”
21:25__Then_Abraham_complained_to_Abimelech_about_a_well_of_water_that_Abimelech＇s_servants_had_seized。
立誓之后，亚伯拉罕抱怨，他挖掘的一口水井被亚比米勒的仆人强行霸占了。
21:26__But_Abimelech_said，_“I_don＇t_know_who_has_done_this。_You_did_not_tell_me，_and_I_heard_about_it_only_today。“
亚比米勒说：“这事我实在不知情，之前没有人跟我提过，这是我第一次听到此事。”
21:27__So_Abraham_brought_sheep_and_cattle_and_gave_them_to_Abimelech，_and_the_two_men_made_a_treaty。
亚伯拉罕带了一些牛羊送给亚比米勒，作为两人立下誓约的见证。
21:28__Abraham_set_apart_seven_ewe_lambs_from_the_flock，
其中，有七只母羊羔是单独放置的。
21:29__and_Abimelech_asked_Abraham，_“What_is_the_meaning_of_these_seven_ewe_lambs_you_have_set_apart_by_themselves?“
亚比米勒问亚伯拉罕：“那单独放置的七只母羊羔，是什么意思？”
21:30__He_replied，_“Accept_these_seven_lambs_from_my_hand_as_a_witness_that_I_dug_this_well。“
亚伯拉罕说：“那是说，你从我手上接受这七只母羊羔，以后要承认那口水井是我挖掘的。”
21:31__So_that_place_was_called_Beersheba，_because_the_two_men_swore_an_oath_there。
两人立誓的地方，后来被称为“别是巴”〔希伯来语：誓约的井或七井〕。
21:32__After_the_treaty_had_been_made_at_Beersheba，_Abimelech_and_Phicol_the_commander_of_his_forces_returned_to_the_land_of_the_Philistines。
在别是巴立下誓约后，亚比米勒和他的军事长官非各返回了非利士人的居地。
21:33__Abraham_planted_a_tamarisk_tree_in_Beersheba，_and_there_he_called_upon_the_name_of_the_LORD，_the_Eternal_God。
亚伯拉罕在别是巴栽下了一棵垂丝柳树，又在那里向永恒的上帝耶和华祈祷。
21:34__And_Abraham_stayed_in_the_land_of_the_Philistines_for_a_long_time。
在非利士人的土地上，亚伯拉罕寄居了相当长的一段时间。
