30:1___When_Rachel_saw_that_she_was_not_bearing_Jacob_any_children，_she_became_jealous_of_her_sister。_So_she_said_to_Jacob，_“Give_me_children，_or_I＇ll_die!“
拉结是不育的，她眼见姐姐利亚一口气生下四个儿子，非常羡慕和嫉妒。
拉结对雅各说：“你快让我生下一个孩子，否则我就去死。”
30:2___Jacob_became_angry_with_her_and_said，_“Am_I_in_the_place_of_God，_who_has_kept_you_from_having_children?“
雅各恼怒的说：“我又不是上帝，怎可以随意让你生下孩子？”
30:3___Then_she_said，_“Here_is_Bilhah，_my_maidservant。_Sleep_with_her_so_that_she_can_bear_children_for_me_and_that_through_her_I_too_can_build_a_family。“
拉结就说：“这是我的女仆辟拉，你跟她同房，让她替我生孩子，那样我也可以算是有孩子了。”
30:4___So_she_gave_him_her_servant_Bilhah_as_a_wife。_Jacob_slept_with_her，
拉结安排女仆辟拉成为丈夫的伺妾。
雅各就跟辟拉同房。
30:5___and_she_became_pregnant_and_bore_him_a_son。
辟拉很快受孕生下一个儿子。
30:6___Then_Rachel_said，_“God_has_vindicated_me;_he_has_listened_to_my_plea_and_given_me_a_son。“_Because_of_this_she_named_him_Dan。
拉结说：“上帝听到了我的哀怨，为我主持公道，赐给了我一个儿子。”
拉结给这个孩子取名为但（与希伯来语“伸冤”的发音相近）。
30:7___Rachel＇s_servant_Bilhah_conceived_again_and_bore_Jacob_a_second_son。
不久，辟拉又怀孕，生下了第二个儿子。
30:8___Then_Rachel_said，_“I_have_had_a_great_struggle_with_my_sister，_and_I_have_won。“_So_she_named_him_Naphtali。
拉结说：“我与姐姐之间，为丈夫的宠爱而进行的争斗，如今是我赢了。”
拉结给这个孩子取名为拿弗他利（与希伯来语“斗争”的发音相近）。
30:9___When_Leah_saw_that_she_had_stopped_having_children，_she_took_her_maidservant_Zilpah_and_gave_her_to_Jacob_as_a_wife。
利亚发觉自己不能再生育后，也安排她的女仆悉帕成为雅各的伺妾。
30:10__Leah＇s_servant_Zilpah_bore_Jacob_a_son。
悉帕不久就怀孕，生下了一个儿子。
30:11__Then_Leah_said，_“What_good_fortune!“_So_she_named_him_Gad。
利亚说：“我的运气真是太好了。”
利亚给这孩子取名为迦得（希伯来语：幸运）。
30:12__Leah＇s_servant_Zilpah_bore_Jacob_a_second_son。
过了一段时间，悉帕又生下了第二个儿子。
30:13__Then_Leah_said，_“How_happy_I_am!_The_women_will_call_me_happy。“_So_she_named_him_Asher。
利亚说：“我真是高兴坏了！以后别的女子要称呼我为福气之母了。”
利亚给这孩子取名为亚设（希伯来语：有福）。
30:14__During_wheat_harvest，_Reuben_went_out_into_the_fields_and_found_some_mandrake_plants，_which_he_brought_to_his_mother_Leah。_Rachel_said_to_Leah，_“Please_give_me_some_of_your_son＇s_mandrakes。“
在小麦收割的时节，流便在田野中找到一些风茄，带回去交给母亲利亚。
拉结对利亚说：“你儿子找到的风茄，请分给我一些。”
（注：风茄是传说中的爱欲之草，能增加女性魅力，治疗不育。）
30:15__But_she_said_to_her，_“Wasn＇t_it_enough_that_you_took_away_my_husband?_Will_you_take_my_son＇s_mandrakes_too?“_“Very_well，“_Rachel_said，_“he_can_sleep_with_you_tonight_in_return_for_your_son＇s_mandrakes。“
利亚说：“你已经抢走了我的丈夫，你还不知足，如今又要来抢我儿子的风茄！”
拉结说：“好吧，你分一些风茄给我，我今晚就让丈夫跟你同房。”
30:16__So_when_Jacob_came_in_from_the_fields_that_evening，_Leah_went_out_to_meet_him。_“You_must_sleep_with_me，“_she_said。_“I_have_hired_you_with_my_son＇s_mandrakes。“_So_he_slept_with_her_that_night。
傍晚，雅各从野外返回到家中，利亚出来迎接他，说：“你今晚是属于我的，这是我用儿子的风茄换来的，你今晚被我雇佣了。”
雅各当夜就与利亚同房。
30:17__God_listened_to_Leah，_and_she_became_pregnant_and_bore_Jacob_a_fifth_son。
上帝垂听了利亚的祈祷，就使她再次怀孕，生下第五个儿子。
30:18__Then_Leah_said，_“God_has_rewarded_me_for_giving_my_maidservant_to_my_husband。“_So_she_named_him_Issachar。
利亚说：“我把女仆献给丈夫作为伺妾，这是上帝对我的奖励。”
利亚把这个儿子取名为萨迦（与希伯来语“褒赏”和“雇佣”的发音相近）。
30:19__Leah_conceived_again_and_bore_Jacob_a_sixth_son。
不久，利亚又怀孕，生下第六个儿子。
30:20__Then_Leah_said，_“God_has_presented_me_with_a_precious_gift。_This_time_my_husband_will_treat_me_with_honor，_because_I_have_borne_him_six_sons。“_So_she_named_him_Zebulun。
利亚说：“这是上帝赐予我的珍贵礼物，我为丈夫生下了六个儿子，这回他总该宠爱我了吧！”
利亚把这个儿子取名为西布伦（与希伯来语“接受”和“礼物”的发音相近）。
30:21__Some_time_later_she_gave_birth_to_a_daughter_and_named_her_Dinah。
后来，利亚又生了一个女儿，取名为底拿。
30:22__Then_God_remembered_Rachel;_he_listened_to_her_and_opened_her_womb。
上帝同样看顾拉结，回应了她一直以来的祈祷，使她获得生育能力。
30:23__She_became_pregnant_and_gave_birth_to_a_son_and_said，_“God_has_taken_away_my_disgrace。“
拉结因此得以怀孕，生下了一个儿子。
拉结说：“我蒙上帝垂青，他除去了我不育的耻辱。”
30:24__She_named_him_Joseph，_and_said，_“May_the_LORD_add_to_me_another_son。“
拉结把儿子取名为约瑟（与希伯来语“愿上主再给我一个”和“他除去了”的发音相近）。
拉结说：“愿上帝再赐予我另外一个儿子。”
30:25__After_Rachel_gave_birth_to_Joseph，_Jacob_said_to_Laban，_“Send_me_on_my_way_so_I_can_go_back_to_my_own_homeland。
拉结生下约瑟后，雅各对拉班说：“我思念我的故乡，请让我回去。”
30:26__Give_me_my_wives_and_children，_for_whom_I_have_served_you，_and_I_will_be_on_my_way。_You_know_how_much_work_I＇ve_done_for_you。“
“这些年来，我为你赚取了多少的财富，你是知道的。”
“如今，请让我带着妻子和儿女一同回去，这是我为你工作应得的酬劳。”
30:27__But_Laban_said_to_him，_“If_I_have_found_favor_in_your_eyes，_please_stay。_I_have_learned_by_divination_that_the_LORD_has_blessed_me_because_of_you。“
拉班说：“看在我一直厚待你的情份上，请你留下来。”
“我非常明白，这些年我之所以得到耶和华的赐福，是因为你的缘故。”
30:28__He_added，_“Name_your_wages，_and_I_will_pay_them。“
拉班又说：“无论你要什么样的酬劳，我都会给你的。”
30:29__Jacob_said_to_him，_“You_know_how_I_have_worked_for_you_and_how_your_livestock_has_fared_under_my_care。
雅各说：“这些年来，我是如何努力为你工作，我是如何细心照料你的牲畜，你是亲眼看到的。”
30:30__The_little_you_had_before_I_came_has_increased_greatly，_and_the_LORD_has_blessed_you_wherever_I_have_been。_But_now，_when_may_I_do_something_for_my_own_household?“
“我来到这里之前，你只有微薄的家产。然而，这些年来，耶和华因为我为你工作，而赐福给你，使你得到丰厚的财富。”
“如今，也到了我创立自己家业的时候了。”
30:31__“What_shall_I_give_you?“_he_asked。_“Don＇t_give_me_anything，“_Jacob_replied。_“But_if_you_will_do_this_one_thing_for_me，_I_will_go_on_tending_your_flocks_and_watching_over_them:
拉班问：“既然如此，你想要什么？”
雅各说：“你不必付出什么，你只要答应我一个要求，我就留下来，继续为你放牧羊群。”
30:32__Let_me_go_through_all_your_flocks_today_and_remove_from_them_every_speckled_or_spotted_sheep，_every_dark-colored_lamb_and_every_spotted_or_speckled_goat。_They_will_be_my_wages。
“你把羊群中，那些身上有斑点条纹等杂毛色的、以及深毛色的绵羊和山羊，都挑出去，剩下纯白毛色的交由我放牧。”
“今后我放牧的羊群中，若是出现杂毛色或深毛色的，就归我所有，这就是我要求的酬劳。”
30:33__And_my_honesty_will_testify_for_me_in_the_future，_whenever_you_check_on_the_wages_you_have_paid_me。_Any_goat_in_my_possession_that_is_not_speckled_or_spotted，_or_any_lamb_that_is_not_dark-colored，_will_be_considered_stolen。“
“我以诚实发誓，日后你在属于我的羊群中，若是找到任何一只不是杂毛色、或深毛色的，都可以算是我偷来的。”
30:34__“Agreed，“_said_Laban。_“Let_it_be_as_you_have_said。“
拉班便说：“如此甚好，我们就此说定了。”
30:35__That_same_day_he_removed_all_the_male_goats_that_were_streaked_or_spotted，_and_all_the_speckled_or_spotted_female_goats_(all_that_had_white_on_them)_and_all_the_dark-colored_lambs，_and_he_placed_them_in_the_care_of_his_sons。
当天，拉班就把羊群中那些杂毛色和深毛色的山羊和绵羊，都挑了出来，交给了自己的儿子放牧。
30:36__Then_he_put_a_three-day_journey_between_himself_and_Jacob，_while_Jacob_continued_to_tend_the_rest_of_Laban＇s_flocks。
拉班把毛色纯白的羊群交给雅各，让他驱赶到三天路程以外的地方放牧。
雅各又开始为拉班放牧羊群了。
30:37__Jacob，_however，_took_fresh-cut_branches_from_poplar，_almond_and_plane_trees_and_made_white_stripes_on_them_by_peeling_the_bark_and_exposing_the_white_inner_wood_of_the_branches。
雅各从杨树、杏树、枫树这三种树上，分别折下一些树枝，他将这些树枝削出条纹，露出里面白色的木质，弄成白深相间的颜色。
30:38__Then_he_placed_the_peeled_branches_in_all_the_watering_troughs，_so_that_they_would_be_directly_in_front_of_the_flocks_when_they_came_to_drink。_When_the_flocks_were_in_heat_and_came_to_drink，
雅各把这些白深相间的树枝插在羊群的饮水槽前。
羊群在饮水时，会进行交配。
30:39__they_mated_in_front_of_the_branches。_And_they_bore_young_that_were_streaked_or_speckled_or_spotted。
那些对着白深相间的树枝交配的羊群，它们生出来的小羊，就会是杂毛色或深毛色。
30:40__Jacob_set_apart_the_young_of_the_flock_by_themselves，_but_made_the_rest_face_the_streaked_and_dark-colored_animals_that_belonged_to_Laban。_Thus_he_made_separate_flocks_for_himself_and_did_not_put_them_with_Laban＇s_animals。
雅各将这些属于自己的杂毛色和深毛色的小羊，单独放牧，不与拉班的羊群混杂。
30:41__Whenever_the_stronger_females_were_in_heat，_Jacob_would_place_the_branches_in_the_troughs_in_front_of_the_animals_so_they_would_mate_near_the_branches，
当那肥壮的羊群前来饮水交配时，雅各就把白深相间的树枝插在水槽前，使它们生下杂毛色或深毛色的小羊。
30:42__but_if_the_animals_were_weak，_he_would_not_place_them_there。_So_the_weak_animals_went_to_Laban_and_the_strong_ones_to_Jacob。
当那些瘦弱的羊群前来饮水交配时，雅各就不插那树枝。
如此一来，属于拉班的羊群多是瘦弱的，属于雅各的羊群，却全都是肥壮的。
30:43__In_this_way_the_man_grew_exceedingly_prosperous_and_came_to_own_large_flocks，_and_maidservants_and_menservants，_and_camels_and_donkeys。
通过这种法子，雅各变得富有起来，拥有了许多的羊群、仆婢、骆驼和驴。
