洪水过后，挪亚的三个儿子闪、含、雅弗，分别生育出众多的子裔。
以下是他们后裔的记录。
10:2___The_sons_of_Japheth:_Gomer，_Magog，_Madai，_Javan，_Tubal，_Meshech_and_Tiras。
雅弗生下的儿子有：歌篾、玛各、玛代、雅完、土巴、米设、提拉。
10:3___The_sons_of_Gomer:_Ashkenaz，_Riphath_and_Togarmah。
歌篾生下了儿子：亚实基拿、利法、陀迦玛。
10:4___The_sons_of_Javan:_Elishah，_Tarshish，_the_Kittim_and_the_Rodanim。
雅完生下了儿子：以利沙、他施、基提、多单。

古实生下儿子：西巴、哈腓拉、撒弗他、拉玛、撒弗提迦。

宁录长大后，成为大地上最早的勇士。

宁录擅长狩猎，耶和华亦赞赏他的技艺。
因此当时有俗语：“愿耶和华使你成为像宁录一般英勇的猎人。”
10:10__The_first_centers_of_his_kingdom_were_Babylon，_Erech，_Akkad_and_Calneh，_in_Shinar。
宁录最初在示拿地区建立王国，占据着巴别、以力、亚甲、甲尼等地方。
10:11__From_that_land_he_went_to_Assyria，_where_he_built_Nineveh，_Rehoboth_Ir，_Calah
后来，宁录又将势力扩张至亚述地区，建造了尼尼微、利河伯、迦拉等城。
10:12__and_Resen，_which_is_between_Nineveh_and_Calah;_that_is_the_great_city。
在尼尼微和迦拉之间，宁录又建造出一个名为利鲜的宏大城市。

麦西的后裔后来发展成这些分支：路低人、亚拿米人、利哈比人、拿弗土希人，
