15:1___After_this，_the_word_of_the_LORD_came_to_Abram_in_a_vision:_“Do_not_be_afraid，_Abram。_I_am_your_shield，_your_very_great_reward。“
此事过后，耶和华在异象中对亚伯兰说：“亚伯兰，你不必忧虑，我会看顾你，日后你会得到丰厚的回报。”
15:2___But_Abram_said，_“O_Sovereign_LORD，_what_can_you_give_me_since_I_remain_childless_and_the_one_who_will_inherit_my_estate_is_Eliezer_of_Damascus?“
亚伯兰说：“我主耶和华啊，我没有子裔，所有的赏赐对我都没有意义。”
“难道说，我要把拥有的一切，传承给家中的那个大马色人以利以谢？”
15:3___And_Abram_said，_“You_have_given_me_no_children;_so_a_servant_in_my_household_will_be_my_heir。“
亚伯兰又说：“你没有赐给我子裔，我如今只能在家中的仆人里选择继承人了。”
15:4___Then_the_word_of_the_LORD_came_to_him:_“This_man_will_not_be_your_heir，_but_a_son_coming_from_your_own_body_will_be_your_heir。“
耶和华说：“你说的事情不会发生，你的继承人会是你亲生的骨肉。”
15:5___He_took_him_outside_and_said，_“Look_up_at_the_heavens_and_count_the_stars--if_indeed_you_can_count_them。“_Then_he_said_to_him，_“So_shall_your_offspring_be。“
耶和华把亚伯兰带到门外，说：“你抬头看天上的星辰，数量是那样的不可数量，你的后裔也将会是如此。”
15:6___Abram_believed_the_LORD，_and_he_credited_it_to_him_as_righteousness。
亚伯兰对耶和华的话毫不怀疑，耶和华因此认可了他的虔诚。
15:7___He_also_said_to_him，_“I_am_the_LORD，_who_brought_you_out_of_Ur_of_the_Chaldeans_to_give_you_this_land_to_take_possession_of_it。“
耶和华说：“我是汝主耶和华，我指引你离开迦勒底的吾珥，为的就是要把眼前这片土地赐给你。”
15:8___But_Abram_said，_“O_Sovereign_LORD，_how_can_I_know_that_I_will_gain_possession_of_it?“
亚伯兰说：“我主耶和华啊，我如何才能确认我会得到这片土地？”_
15:9___So_the_LORD_said_to_him，_“Bring_me_a_heifer，_a_goat_and_a_ram，_each_three_years_old，_along_with_a_dove_and_a_young_pigeon。“
耶和华说：“你为我奉献这些祭品：”
“三岁的母牛、三岁的母山羊、三岁的公绵羊、以及斑鸠和雏鸽，每种各一只。”
15:10__Abram_brought_all_these_to_him，_cut_them_in_two_and_arranged_the_halves_opposite_each_other;_the_birds，_however，_he_did_not_cut_in_half。
亚伯兰遵照吩咐，取来所有的祭品。
他将牛和羊都对剖成两片，一半对一半的整齐摆放，飞鸟是整只的摆放。
15:11__Then_birds_of_prey_came_down_on_the_carcasses，_but_Abram_drove_them_away。
这时，有禽鸟飞落下来，要啄食祭肉，亚伯兰把它们赶跑了。
15:12__As_the_sun_was_setting，_Abram_fell_into_a_deep_sleep，_and_a_thick_and_dreadful_darkness_came_over_him。
一直守候到太阳下山，亚伯兰不知不觉中沉睡了过去。
亚伯兰在睡梦中，感觉到一种厚重可怕的黑暗落在自己身上，他惊醒了。
15:13__Then_the_LORD_said_to_him，_“Know_for_certain_that_your_descendants_will_be_strangers_in_a_country_not_their_own，_and_they_will_be_enslaved_and_mistreated_four_hundred_years。
耶和华对他说：“如今你明白了吧，你的后裔日后会流落异国，受人奴役压迫，时间长达四百年之久。”
15:14__But_I_will_punish_the_nation_they_serve_as_slaves，_and_afterward_they_will_come_out_with_great_possessions。
“然而，我会惩罚那些国家，你的后裔在离开时，会带走丰厚的财物。”
15:15__You，_however，_will_go_to_your_fathers_in_peace_and_be_buried_at_a_good_old_age。
“至于你本人，会安享长寿，最后灵魂归于祖先。”
15:16__In_the_fourth_generation_your_descendants_will_come_back_here，_for_the_sin_of_the_Amorites_has_not_yet_reached_its_full_measure。“
“你的第四代子裔，将会重返此地。”
“如今占据此地的亚摩利人，他们背负的罪孽，还不到清算的时间。”
15:17__When_the_sun_had_set_and_darkness_had_fallen，_a_smoking_firepot_with_a_blazing_torch_appeared_and_passed_between_the_pieces。
此时天色已黑，一团冒着烟的炽烈火光，忽然在祭肉间穿行而过。
15:18__On_that_day_the_LORD_made_a_covenant_with_Abram_and_said，_“To_your_descendants_I_give_this_land，_from_the_river_of_Egypt_to_the_great_river，_the_Euphrates--
这一天，耶和华和亚伯兰立下了圣约，说：
“我赐给你子裔的这片土地，是埃及河和幼发拉河之间，那所有的土地，”
15:19__the_land_of_the_Kenites，_Kenizzites，_Kadmonites，
“这片土地上如今生活着基尼人、基尼洗人、甲摩尼人、”
15:20__Hittites，_Perizzites，_Rephaites，
“赫人、比利洗人、利乏音人、”
15:21__Amorites，_Canaanites，_Girgashites_and_Jebusites。“
“亚摩利人、迦南人、革迦撒人和耶布斯人。”
“这些人所拥有的土地，日后将全部属于你的子裔。”
